Our Story

June 18th, 2023, that is when it all started and where it started was Dellwood Baptist Church, in Swainsboro, Georgia. Pastor Joe Bedgood was preaching a message that Sunday morning, the day after my 23rd birthday. I left that day a changed man, saved by the grace of God.
Even just looking back three years ago, the change in my life has been astronomical to say the least, my marriage is now stronger than ever, I have a beautiful and healthy one year old baby boy waiting for me to get home alongside my wife, I am a dedicated member of the church The Lord so gracefully saved me in, and am truly blessed to have other faithful men willing to serve alongside me and a Ministry that has been nothing short of blessed.
The above stated ministry, Reel Men Ministries, was founded in April of this year, after coming home from an Iron Sharpens Iron Conference in Cartersville, Georgia that was put on by Real Momentum. It was there that I attended with my pastor, Brother Joe Bedgood and the Co-founder of the ministry, Logan Gay; this was also where I was able to come into contact with and build a relationship with Dr. Scott Sullivan of the Georgia Baptist Mission Board.
Long story short, after coming home, that Sunday Brother Joe gave a message about our churches growing empty and I immediately had a conviction about what I was (or wasn’t) doing about that. So the next day while at work I was driving down the road in prayer, and The Lord laid it on my heart that I needed to do my part to grow our local churches and strengthen our community by reaching and leading men. I then called my brother (in Christ), Logan, and told him I was going to start a men’s ministry. And without hesitation he told me that he was just praying and asking for God to send him a sign as to what he wanted him to do in order to further His Kingdom, and that me calling him couldn’t be anything but an answered prayer.
The first person we went to for guidance was Brother Joe, who has supported us and had our back ever since. What started as a flame and a conviction, turned into a conversation, then a reality. Reel Men Ministries has now reached hundreds of men in our community, and several churches as well. We have since been able to pour into 50-70 men monthly at large meetings since April of this year who are in turn taking what we pour into them back into their homes, jobs, and churches. We have also been planning many community outreach events for the near future in order to reach and engage more people.
We have seen the growth of many of these men, and the growth that they have then brought into their churches; Glory being to God alone. Emanuel County, Georgia has been consumed by a wildfire of Godly men and women, standing out and standing up in their faith, growing in their walks with The Lord, and taking steps of obedience for the glory of His Kingdom. Reel Men Ministries is just beyond grateful for God allowing us to be a part of this movement and continuing to enable us to be able pour into our communities and our churches. So get out there, join a local church, find a way to serve using the gifts that God has blessed you with, build meaningful relationships, stay obedient in honoring God’s will for your life, and trust in Him in all that you do!
